‘Hungry for the title’ Central targets 3 gold at finals

SEMI Dauloloma is eager for a rematch with Fiji heavyweigh­t champion James Singh, believing he will come back stronger this time, prompting Singh is running away from him and wanting to move to the cruiserwei­ght division to fight Alifereti Kauyaca.

After his loss in the last fight against Singh at the Lewis-Hill Boxing Promotions last year Dauloloma , it has motivated him to train harder and approach the rematch with more seriousnes­s and hunger for victory.

“I wasn’t prepared well for the last fight, was still recovering from sickness, which I won’t give that as an excuse, he has to prepare well cause I’m coming in strong and hungry for the title,” said Dauloloma .

“I want a rematch because all people were shocked about my performanc­e in the last fight, no one believes that I lost that day, ‘The Equalizer’ Dauloloma never lost a fight.

“He wants to go down to cruiserwei­ght division and fight Kauyaca, he will school him also,he know I’m coming in strong this time that’s why he winna go down to cruiser weight division.”

CENTRAL College is aiming to win three gold medals during this year’s Coca-Cola Games.

The school held their inter-house athletics meet at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday, where students showcased their talents and competitiv­e skills on the tracks and fields, gearing up for the Lautoka Zone and national finals.

School head of PEMAC department Avinesh Chand expressed the school’s ambition to send 80-100 athletes to the Lautoka Zone and 30 athletes to the CocaCola Games.

“Last year at the Coke Games we won one gold and one bronze medal and this year our aim is to win three gold medals. In the Lautoka Zone we finished second in the boys and third in the girls, but we want to beat these results this year.

“We have a plan in place and our target this year for the zonal meet is to finish second in both divisions,” Chand said.

The lautoka Zone will be held on April 5-6. The nationals is on May 2-4. endurance, and stamina with his trainer.

He asks his fans for support in the upcoming rematch, promising that the mistakes of the past won’t be repeated.

Apologizin­g for his previous loss, Dauloloma urges fans to pack the arena and cheer him on loudly for victory, as they have done in his previous fights.

The fight is expected to take place in June, at the Bluewater Boxing Promotion.
