$453k pay for two

FIJI Broadcasti­ng Corporatio­n Ltd (FBCL) paid its two key management personnel $453,464 in 2022 while its board members picked up $19,500 in fees, according to the FBCL’s annual report that was tabled in Parliament on Friday.

The two key management personnel listed in the report are Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum (chief executive officer) and Vimlesh Sagar (chief financial officer)

“Key management personnel are those persons having authority and responsibi­lity for planning, directing and controllin­g the activities of the entity, directly or indirectly, including any director (whether executive or otherwise) of that entity,” states the annual report.

“During the year the following persons (Mr Sayed-Khaiyum and Mr Sagar) were the executives identified as key management personnel, with the greatest authority and responsibi­lity for the planning, directing and controllin­g the activities of the company.”

The $453,464 aggregate compensati­on of the key management personnel comprises only short-term benefits, the report read.

The report stated that after the balance date (December 31, 2022), Tarun Patel was appointed as acting chief executive officer of the company.

The annual report recorded FBCL’s directors in 2022 as:

❏ Glenys Andrews (resigned January 10, 2023)

❏ Sakiusa Bolaira (resigned on November 2022)
