RAVEENA Tandon, in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, said that it’s “easy for influential people to get away with things”.

The actor plays a lawyer in her upcoming project, Patna Shukla. The film is a courtroom drama about two women’s fight against injustice, influence, misuse of power and infamous education scams.

Raveena Tandon, who will be next seen in Patna Shukla, spoke to IndiaToday.in about what made her say yes to such a sensitive topic. She told us, “It is about the plight of a common man. It gets a little worse because they end up being women as well (smiles). So there is a little more discrimination, but that is the fight for them, for justice and how easy it is to play with lives.

“It is so easy for influential people to get away with things which have been going on for a long time but never been exposed. This is throwing light on a lot of events that actually, truly happened. If you search on the Internet, you will see a lot of such scams have already happened, and they have played with students’ lives. This is something we all thought was very important to bring to focus,” she added.

She also mentioned that even PM Modi had touched upon the topic and said, “As we know, Modi ji [PM Narendra Modi] in Mann Ki Baat, had mentioned and spoken about students going through stress during their exams and student suicides happening for various reasons. This is something we have to tackle at the grassroot level, considering that this is our future generation.”

Raveena Tandon as Tanvi Shukla in Patna Shukla embarks on an unusual voyage as a lawyer, compelled to take action upon discovering a student trapped in a roll number scandal.
