A force to reckon with

DRUA MEN EYE FIRST WIN AGAINST WESTERN FORCE

- By ROHIT DEO

THE SWIRE Shipping Fijian Drua men’s and women’s teams have it all to play for when they host the Western Force for the first time in the Shop n Save Super Rugby Pacific competition in Lautoka this Saturday.

After a nail-biting 39-36 first win over the Waratahs in extra time last Saturday, the men’s side will be looking for a first win against the Western Force this week.

“Interestingly, the Drua men have never beaten the Western Force in two previous attempts since the side’s entry into Super Rugby Pacific in 2022,” said Fijian Drua head of commercial and marketing Shane Hussein.

This is also the first time for the Western Force to play in Fiji, so there’s a real interest in this game from players and fans alike.

“This weekend’s double header is extremely important for both the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua men and the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua women’s teams.

“Success this weekend will move both sides higher on the table,” Hussein added.

To make it convenient for fans, tickets for the double header have been brought down to as low as $15.

“We know this is Easter weekend and families are moving around the country to celebrate.

“To make it even easier for families and groups of friends to come and cheer on both their Drua teams, we’ve reduced the grass embankment tickets for this double header to just $15 flat. We have the world’s best fans and their support in the stadium means the world to both the men’s and women’s teams.”

The Drua men take on the Western Force at 1.05pm while the Drua W play at 3.35pm.
