Schoolgirl­s rugby league showdown

THE Pherrus Trophy Schoolgirl­s rugby league competitio­n is set to feature highly competitiv­e games on Saturday.

The Southeast zone will kick off their quarter-final matches, with defending champions Namosi Titans facing off against Ratu Latianara Raiders.

The second quarter-final will see Lomaivuna Raiders taking on Sila Tigers, followed by the clash between Naitasiri Warriors and Nuku College.

The last quarter-final will feature Wainimala Raiders squaring off against the newcomers ACS Knight.

In the Western zone, the semifinals will begin with Ra High Roosters challengin­g Nasikawa Raiders, and Jasper Vikings competing against Nakauvadra Raiders.

FSSRL’s media officer Lai Corerega highlighte­d the surprise qualificat­ion of newcomer Nuku Rabbitohs for the Zone Quarters, adding to the anticipati­on of the upcoming matches.

“The upcoming games promise to be highly competitiv­e as all teams vie for a spot in the nationals,” said Corerega.

“From the Western side, teams like Nakauvadra Raiders to the Nationals Quarters adds excitement to the tournament, fans can also look forward to an exciting game between Ra High Roosters and Nasikawa Vision Raiders.

FSSRL extends best wishes to all participat­ing teams this week as they aim to secure qualificat­ion to the Nationals.

The organisati­on also expresses gratitude to the non-qualifying schools and hopes for their continued interest in the sport in future seasons.

FSSRL encourages fans and supporters to come out in large numbers to cheer for their favourite teams throughout the season.

The Southeast zone quarterfin­als will be held at Sila Central grounds.
