Company opens new branch in Nakasi

- By MERI RADINIBARAVI

NAKASI is continuing to grow as a suburban centre near one of Fiji’s major towns, Nausori, with more and more prominent businesses opting to open a branch or two in the area.

Hardware retailer Vinod Patel has now become the latest addition to this list of business names after it opened its 19th branch at the Tebara Plaza in Nakasi last week.

This new store is located a stonethrow away from Vinod Patel’s very own Home & Living and Finance Hub (hire purchase and motor vehicle financing) outlets.

In a statement, company chief executive officer (CEO) Rahul Amin said this new location offered a convenient and modern shopping experience for customers within the Valelevu to Nausori corridor.

“With frequent requests from customers and an evident business case, we have been wanting to establish a presence in the area for some time. Nakasi has a rapidly growing population, it was just a matter of finding an ideal location in line with our retail standards,” Mr Amin said.

“Equally important is that there are a lot of property developments in the area and scope for us to provide quality, resilient and sustainable building materials to our residential and commercial customers.

“This is critical given the observed impacts of climate change, including the recent tornado, in the central region.”

Vinod Patel chief operating officer Pal Singh said the Nakasi branch created employment for 30 individuals, of which 40 per cent, or 12 are women. It’s also being managed by a female branch manager, bringing the total number of Vinod Patel female managers to 26.

“The store has been set up with safety, diversity, and inclusion in mind. Bringing our solutionsdriven services and products closer to people in efficient ways has always been an operational priority and we are confident that this Nakasi store will deliver that,” he said.

“We value that time and convenience are key for our customers. This consolidation of services in an accessible location with ample parking provides an ideal, one-stop, complete building, and home solution for all.”

According to the statement, Vinod Patel looks forward to partnering with the community to implement its corporate social responsibility commitment in Nakasi and neighbouring areas.
