Obituary Jonathan Autar
1989 — 2023
THE late Centrecom Customer Success manager for eCommerce and Customer Service accounts in Nadi, Jonathan Jeremiah Autar, 35 passed away last month (February).
His sister Chanel Watta reminisced on memories of Jojo and his childhood.
“Jojo was not only the most handsome of all the brothers, but he was also the most spoilt by their uncles and aunties,” she said.
“He was prim and proper and very particular about his hair, perfume, and looks.
Jojo was independent and private and even though he would go through hard times he would never ask his family for help and always put their needs first above his own.
The Autar family was comforted knowing that Jojo touched many lives during his time in Nadi and Suva.
A workmate of Jojo who spoke on behalf of Centrecom said it was difficult delivering a eulogy for someone who was full of life.
“Jonathan would walk into a room and immediately put a smile on everyone’s face,” he said.
“That was the effect he had on people around him.
“He was always full of smiles, full of life and although he wasn’t a great singer, he was a good dancer.”
Uncle Fred, who was a friend of Jojo’s father and also a father figure to him said his passing was hard to believe as he was assisting with his wife’s funeral just a few weeks prior to his demise.
Another uncle Suli shared the same sentiments and spoke on their trip to NadroDgEaATaHn dFJN9a55v2o4s a19w8.h42ic6h was where he discove7.r0e d l oFvJe95f5o2r4g4 rog and suki.
Jojo was also involved with the Nadi Touch Rugby where the team in an act of respect performed a team cheer during the funeral service. The team also sang a song and as a final act in his memory, presented Jojo’s team kit to his mother and family members.
Peni, a member who spoke on behalf of the team said Jojo’s communication skills and perseverance was what he appreciated the most.
“Jojo was someone who never hesitated to voice his opinions and ideas and easily stood out as a visionary for the team,” he said.
“Among his exemplary traits, he was first and foremost kind and helpful to those around him.”
In a final tribute to his son, Subhash made a promise to continually support the Elementz Fiji touch rugby which his son passionately worked with.
Jono is survived by his four-year-old son David, parents Subhash and Rachael Autar along with his siblings, nieces and nephews.
