KADAVU Women’s are confident of securing a win today when they face Serua in round five of the Royal Tea Ranadi Cup competition at Thompson Park in Navua.

Kadavu head coach Josevata Rove said even though they will be facing their opponents on their home turf, he is confident in his team’s capabilities to secure a win when the two sides go head-to-head at 11am today.

“Even though we will be playing in their home ground, it does not matter because we will win against Serua,” Rove said.

“The girls have been preparing well over the past few weeks and we have managed to find our momentum and nothing is stopping us now.”

The side has already qualified for the quarter-finals, after remaining undefeated in the past four rounds, topping their pool with 15 points.

“We are undefeated in our pool, and the girls have been performing well in our past few games.”

The side boasts three Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women players in their side, which Rove said has been a great boost to the team.

The trio includes Merewairita Veisova who scored a hat-trick against the Reds earlier this month, hooker Loraini Senivutu and Salanieta Kinita.

“So these players have had a lot of impact on our team since the season started, so with these three on our side, we are confident of a win tomorrow.”

Rove said their goal of booking a spot in the ANZ Marama Cup competition by the end of the season has not changed.

“We are still working towards that goal and if we continue the way we are right now, we should be able to achieve this goal by the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, Rove is calling out on their fans and supporters to come out in numbers to cheer the team when they run out against the hosts today.

“To all our fans, we need your support so we are asking you to all come out in numbers and cheer for the girls.”
