VARIATIONS

Mogenet does not produce series in the ordinary sense; rather her work consists of sets of variations on a particular procedure. She has produced about thirty such ensembles since her 2009 graduation from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beauxarts in Paris where she studied with sculptor Richard Deacon. These sets of variations are always open-ended, with no fixed number of constituents. A set is expanded when Mogenet goes back to the source image, technique or protocol that gives it its unity.
