[VAN DONGEN]

The Musée de Montmartre is devoting an exhibition to the Dutch painter Kees van Dongen entitled Van Dongen and the BateauLavoir. The Bateau- Lavoir became at the beginning of the 20th century the cradle of modern art where the likes of Picasso, Derain and Matisse among others would work and meet up. The show brings together major works by Van Dongen who had his studio at the Bateau-lavoir.

Le Musée de Montmartre consacre une exposition au peintre néerlandais Kees van Dongen. Intitulée « Kees van Dongen et le Bateau-lavoir », elle rassemble des oeuvres majeures du peintre qui avait établi son atelier dans cet espace considéré comme le berceau de l’art moderne au début du XXE siècle. À cette époque, le Bateau-lavoir est en effet un lieu d’échanges et de rencontres pour des artistes comme Picasso, Derain ou Matisse.
