MARC AND SACHA, FATHER AND SON

-

- Marc , journalist: When I was young, I used to spend crazy amounts of time in Hemisphère and Old England. They were the two mainstays. To go clubbing at Les Bains Douches, you’d wear a very short Lee denim jacket under a leather biker jacket, with jeans. Castel was more sophisticated; you’d wear a blazer. I navigated between those two styles. But the goal was always to pick up women. Nowadays, some days more Italian, some days more English, but always very Parisian. - Sacha, architect :

My father is always talking to me about clothes. He’ll tell me what stores he’s going to, what he’s buying. It’s something we both love to do. He still has quite a strong influence on me. For example, I don’t own a single pair of sneakers, and I get that from him.

A Uniqlo cashmere sweater that I often wear like this, but you have to be careful what you team it with, so as not to look too buttoned-up and bourgeois.

A Levi’s Type II trucker jacket I stole from my girlfriend. Underneath I'm wearing a shirt by Big Mac that I brought back from a trip to Osaka.

These are Hermès pants that my mother bought for herself a couple of years ago, thinking they were for women, but they’re not. I tried them on and ended up keeping them.

A pair of black Aldens I found in New York a year ago. I alternate between these and Westons.

A gingham shirt from Hilditch & Key. It has French cuffs, but I wear it without cufflinks.

This is a Villeret by Blancpain. It’s elegant and easy to wear.

The timeless L’Aiglon belt; like my son!

In 1981, I was a leading reporter covering François Mitterrand’s election and earned a bonus for my work. I ran straight to Old England to buy myself this blazer, and here it still is.

I was looking for a pair of wool gabardine pants but couldn’t find what I wanted, so I bought a length of fabric at Tissus Français, and my trouser-maker near Montparnasse made me these wonderful pants.

These are buckled suede Westons I bought over 30 years ago. They’re not available in the catalog anymore. I love suede; I think it looks more bespoke, more polished.
