Île Saint-Louis

-

Start on the corner of rue de Rivoli and rue Mahler, facing the large church. Turn left on the boulevard, then right into rue St-Paul for the treasure trove of antique shops known as St Paul Village / #23-27 / village-saint-paul.com. Look for timeless silver at Cassiopée, and curios at Des Photographies. Leave the village where you entered and turn right on St-Paul, then right again on the rue de l'Ave Marie. Head straight on, following the tiny street behind the gorgeous Tudor building to the main road. Turn left and cross the Seine to rue des Deux Ponts on the Île St-Louis. Hopefully you're wearing Spanx, so indulge in a scoop of Berthillon ice cream at #27 Pom' Cannelle 46 34 68 59, then turn right onto rue St-Louis en l'Ile. Note here is the sure-fire Sergent Recruteur (see Rest./Smart), then head into L'Occitane's rustic, olive oil emporium sibling Premiere Pression Provence at #51 / 43 26 19 70, and marvel at nifty fromagerie La Ferme St-Aubin at #76. At the tip of the island the Alsatian Brasserie de l'Ile St-Louis is the perfect place to break for a vin chaud. Now, Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle (see Activities) are on the other side of the bustling bridge in front of you. Simply follow signs to ND, then Palais de Justice. Ta-dah!
