Shoemakers, seamstresses, knitters, crocheters, weavers… all the artigiani (artisans) were celebrated in Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s Milan runway show. Rather than sexiness, they prefer the glamor of Italian retro. Carmine roses are like the thread that runs through the whole collection: made in 3D and dropped on a pump, a chic garçonne suit or an oversized shirt. Be it in handbags, socks, beret-style beanies, XXL sweaters or big coats, everywhere the opulence of knitted wool is reworked to warm up these very leggy silhouettes.
