Wines allow us a way of transcending time. Upon tasting an older vintage, we conjure an unconscious memory of that time in the wines life.We also think of that era in the context of our own existence, last but not least we connect these abstractions to the moment in which, and the people with whom we choose to enjoy the wine. These different perspectives and times merge together into one and have the potential to create a lasting memory throughout our lives.
“They remind us of an interdependency with the natural world that has been forgotten, but fortunately not lost. ”
There are many definitions and levels at which wine can exist. In my opinion, the most sacred of wines are a result of the rare ability of specific places to produce meaning through their character. A meaning that captivates humans to exchange with the land in pursuit of uncovering its essence. There is something deeper these wines have to offer. When we imbibe them we are more nourished than intoxicated. They are consumed more in the soul than in the intellect.
These wines give us hope for re-kindling that latent relationship and the grace and harmony that can result from such a reunion…
