Ken Livingstone
Ken Livingstone, formerly a Labour MP and Mayor of London, has resigned from the Labour Party. He had been suspended from the party since 2016, following controversial comments he made about Adolf Hitler supporting Zionism. A new Labour party disciplinary process was due to begin when he announced his resignation. “The ongoing issues around my suspension from the Labour Party have become a distraction from the key political issue of our time – which is to replace a Tory government overseeing falling living standards and spiralling poverty,” he said in a statement.
