BALANCING ACT

Un chien équilibriste

-

Harlso is a five-year-old dachshund and an Internet sensation. This little guy lives in Belfast, Ireland with his owners, Paul Lavery and Jennifer Scott. The couple discovered that their furry friend had a special talent: he can balance a whole variety of objects on his head with the greatest of ease. Although that’s pretty much the only trick he does, the world has grown to love the impeccably dressed canine and his big brown eyes, thanks to a series of viral videos his masters have been posting since 2016. This year, he even won the Internet’s Highest Honour according to the New York Times: a Webby award. The first Webby Award was awarded in 1996. “The Oscars of the Internet” are presented every year by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. There are over a hundred categories. For each of these, two winners are selected: one by the Academy and one by the public. The Awards have been criticised for being a “pay to play” business, as entries cost between $365 and $625 depending on the category.
