S’il n’y avait qu’une seule piste à faire (et à refaire ), c’est bien le mythique Lauberhorn. Une descente légendaire de la coupe du monde que tout athlète a un jour rêvé de remporter. En partant de la maisonette au départ (photo obligatoire !), vous descendez une piste technique mais accesible si vous l’affrontez avec calme.

Il y a 1200m de denivelé que les stars du circuit blanc avalent en 2’30 mais qu’un bon skieur, sans se presser, mettra 20 mn à descendre. De quoi vivre un moment magique. Et un beau défi !

Fabuleusement impressionnant, le fameux passage sous le pont du train... On se rend compte qu’il est incroyablement étroit et quand on pense qu’en compétition il est pris à 120km /h, là pas le droit à l’erreur !

L’arrivée à Wengen se fait directement dans le stade, avec les cabines des télévisions toujours en place. Belles sensations !

Du côté Grindelwald, plusieurs pistes rouges descendent de la Kleine Sheidegg Scheidegg jusqu’en bas du village.

Précision importante pour les hôtes de l’hôtel Aspen, il faut bien repérer la piste qui part de Männlichen. A ce propos, le téléphérique qui dessert cette piste meriterait bien une rénovation.

If there were only one slope to ski down (and then ski down again), it would definitely have to be the legendary Lauberhorn Run. The fabled world cup downhill run is one that every skier has at some time or another dreamed of winning.

After you start out from the little house at the top (you must take a photo!), you’ll ski down a slope which, although technical, is manageable if you approach it with composure.

There’s 1,200m. of difference in height which skiing stars of the slopes devour in 2 minutes thirty seconds. However, a good skier who’s not in a hurry will take around 20 minutes to ski down, guaranteeing a magical experience… and a real challenge!

What’s so amazingly awe-inspiring is the notorious passage under the railway bridge. You realise just how incredibly narrow it is and when you consider that skiers go through here at 120 km/h in a race, there’s no room for error !

The finish point in Wengen is directly at the stadium and the television booths are still set up. Great thrills !

From the Grindelwald side, there are several red runs descending the Kleine Scheidegg going down to the bottom of village.

An important note for guests staying at Hotel Aspen : you need to pinpoint the slope which starts at Männlichen. Whilst on this topic, the cable car serving this slope could do with renovation.
