Ouvert en décembre 2016, cet hôtel de luxe est sans doute l’une des plus belles surprises de nos récents pèlerinages dans les Alpes et le plus bel hôtel de tout Paradiski. Il porte le nom d’un célèbre diamant, le plus gros jamais monté sur couronne (115 carats !) et qui appartient encore à la famille royale iranienne.
C’est du côté de l’Himalaya que les architectes et designers ont puisé leur inspiration. L’hôtel se trouvant au bord d’une falaise, l’aspect «pagode» avec ses toits en virgule a été intégré à l’architecture. Cela renforce la sensation d’être perché au sommet de la montagne, bien que nous soyons au milieu des pistes. La décoration quant à elle, associe avec subtilité le contemporain et les touches indiennes ou tibétaines. L’exposition a été pensée pour optimiser la lumière, et faire que le puissant soleil de montagne baigne l’intérieur, offrant ainsi sentiment de bien-être ressourçant. Par ailleurs, toutes les installations sont ultra-modernes et la conciergerie est particulièrement diligente. Dans les 48 chambres et suites vous retrouverez la même touche de sobre élégance, et les baies vitrées d’où vous plongez votre regard au coeur de la montagne. Entre ciel et montage, cet hôtel scintillant est un écrin de beauté et de lumière.
Opened in December, 2016, this luxury hotel is undoubtedly one of the loveliest surprises of our recent excursions into the Alps and the most beautiful hotel in the entire Paradiski resort. It bears the name of a famous diamond; the largest ever set into a crown (115 carats !) and which still belongs to the Iranian royal family. Its architects and designers have drawn their inspiration from the Himalayas. The hotel is near the edge of a cliff, and the «pagoda» look with curved roofs has been incorporated into the architecture. This intensifies the feeling of being perched on a mountaintop, even though we are halfway down the slopes. As for the interior design, it subtly blends contemporary with touches of the Indian and Tibetan.
The orientation of the building has been conceived to optimise light, so that the bright mountain sun bathes the interior, giving a feeling of revitalising well-being. What’s more, all the facilities are ultramodern and the concierge service is especially attentive. You’ll find the same style of sober elegance in the 48 rooms and suites. From the picture windows, you can feast your eyes on the view over the heart of the mountain range. Set between sky and mountain, this dazzling hotel is a place of beauty and light.

Les restaurants
L’Atelier et la table bistronomique Taj-I Mah se partagent les joies de la table. Le premier vise plutôt la carte conviviale des plats à partager et souvent cuits au BBQ. Le deuxième joue la carte de la recherche d’une palette gastronomique appliquée à des produits de qualité et pour la plupart du terroir. L’élégance de la salle et l’espacement des tables complètent cette belle expérience culinaire à 2 000 mètres d’altitude.
Le Spa …au sel de l’Himalaya
Disposant de 400 m2 et d’une belle piscine intérieure, le Spa, avec son mur en pierre, est à la hauteur du reste de l’établissement ; la salle de relaxation est entourée d’un mur de sel de l’Himalaya, dont les pierres salines (on cite) «offrent des propriétés relaxantes grâce à leurs effets énergétiques, qui stimulent la positivité et permettent de vaincre l’anxiété, la dépression et la mélancolie. Cela se concrétise par une détente musculaire rapide, un apaisement intense et une relaxation profonde.» Osez tenter l’expérience et constater par vous-même (ou pas...) les effets quasi magiques de ce lieu, véritable enchantement !
Restaurants
L’Atelier and the Taj-I Mah «bistronomic» restaurants both offer the joys of dining out. The first of these caters for a fun and friendly menu of meals to share, often cooked on the BBQ. The second focuses on providing a gourmet array made from quality, mostly local, produce. The elegant dining room and the spacing between tables round off this splendid culinary experience at an altitude of 2 000 metres.
The Spa …with Himalayan Salt
With its stone wall, the Spa comes up to the standard of the rest of the hotel, enjoying a 400m2 area and a fine indoor swimming pool. The relaxation room is surrounded by a wall of Himalayan salt, and according to the hotel, its salt rocks «provide relaxing properties thanks to their energising effects which stimulate positivity and allow the elimination of anxiety, depression and melancholy. This is enhanced by swift muscular relaxation, intense soothing and deep repose.» Try it out and see if you experience for yourself the almost magical effects of this place – true enchantment !
