The Attica Zoological Park is the only one of its kind in Greece, housing more than 2,000 animals of 350 different species. In addition to seeing the animals – and in some cases being able to walk among them – younger visitors have the option of participating in a number of educational programs, though those interested must reserve a place in advance. Visitors can also watch feeding sessions or go on a guided tour with an animal keeper. Located east of Athens near Spata, the park is open every day from 9 a.m. until sunset. For more information and directions on how to get there, visit the park’s website, www.atticapark.com. Attica Zoological Park, Yalou, Spata, tel 210.663.4724
