The Aquaworld Aquarium on Crete features displays of local sealife and reptiles from around the world, including snakes, turtles and octopuses. Visitors are not only allowed to interact with the animals, but are encouraged to pet and hold them. Located in the port of Hersonisso­s on the northeaste­rn coast of the island, the aquarium is open every day through October 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission costs 6 euros for adults and 4 euros for children.
