The Athens Con­cert Hall is host­ing the Is­rael Phil­har­monic Or­ches­tra led by renowned mae­stro Zu­bin Me­hta on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 18, and Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 19. On Oc­to­ber 18 the ensem­ble will per­form Beethoven’s Eg­mont Over­ture, Op. 84, his Vi­o­lin Con­certo in D ma­jor, Op. 61, and Sym­phony No 3 in E flat ma­jor, Op. 55, “Eroica,” with vi­o­lin soloist Leonidas Kavakos. The fol­low­ing evening, the pro­gram in­cludes Arnold Schoen­berg’s Cham­ber Sym­phony No 1 in E ma­jor, Op. 9, Gus­tav Mahler’s “Kin­der­toten­lieder” and An­tonin Dvo­rak’s Sym­phony No 9 in E mi­nor, “From the New World,” Op. 95, B. 178.
