Mykonos Vase
> Mykonos > To September 11
The Mykonos Municipal Art Gallery is hosting “The Fall of Troy: The Mykonos Vase and the Heroes of Eleutherna.” The exhibition focuses on a funeral vase dating to approximately 670 BC, which was discovered in a house on the Cycladic island in 1961 and came to be known as the Mykonos Vase. The artifact is on display at the island’s Archaeological Museum. The display, which runs through September 11, is a curtain-raiser for “Homer in the Aegean,” an exhibition celebrating the splendid artifact and the discovery of stone shield-bearing warriors in Eleutherna in Crete, which is scheduled to take place next year.
