Re­stored Cypriot monastery opens as peace talks be­gin

The 5-mil­lioneuro pro­ject was funded by both eth­nic com­mu­ni­ties, with a small con­tri­bu­tion from the US Agency for International De­vel­op­ment (USAID). ‘Com­ple­tion of the renovation pro­ject by Greek and Turk­ish Cypri­ots of­fers a mes­sage of hope,’ tweeted Cypriot Pres­i­dent Ni­cos Anas­tasi­ades, in Switzer­land for new UN-backed peace talks on a peace deal.
