Rail, metro, tram services to be disrupted today

Transport workers on the Kifissia-Piraeus electric railway and the Athens metro and tram will hold a work stoppage today which will result in services halting at 9 p.m. The action will coincide with a 24hour strike by staff at the Hellenic Railways Organization to protest plans to privatize the company. Workers on the capital’s Proastiakos suburban railway will also stage a 24-hour strike today, affecting services to Athens International Airport.
