Students denounce new tertiary education law

Members of the philology faculty of Thessaloniki’s Aristotle University yesterday continued a sitin at the institution’s central administrative offices. The students are protesting a new law for tertiary education that stipulates certain cutbacks, including a possible end to free textbooks. In a statement issued on Thursday, the student union said the new law would lead to “extremely acute problems” and called for it to be revoked.
