Europe will protect borders, Greek sovereignty, envoy says
European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell (c) is seen yesterday in a Greek military helicopter with Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias (r) near the Turkish border. ‘It’s very clear that we are determined to protect the external borders of the European Union and to strongly support Greece’s sovereignty,’ Borrell said. He added that Greece’s borders are also the EU’s borders. Dendias accused Turkey of undermining stability in the Eastern Mediterranean while Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who met Borrell later, called on Turkey to stop its ‘provocative actions.’
