Wanted bulletin issued for ‘Brains’ over South Ruimveldt stabbing

-

The Guyana Police Force yesterday issued a wanted bulletin for Keon Hyles, exactly one month after he allegedly stabbed his reputed wife in a bid to end her life at South Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

Hyles called “Brains” is wanted by the police pending investigations into the attempted murder of Michelle Drennon.

The incident occurred on April 20 around 6 pm during which 25-year-old Drennon of Lot 1607 Cadet Lane, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was stabbed at least four times about her body—to her back, upper chest and above her shoulder.

She was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where she remained for almost three weeks before being discharged on May 11. The incident has left the mother of one severely traumatized and fearing that the suspect may return to finish the job.

Hyles had reportedly contacted Drennon’s family while she was hospitalised and offering compensation in order to settle the matter but his overtures were ignored as they are determined that he should face the full force of the law.

Contacted yesterday for a comment, Michelle’s sister, Tandicka Drennon expressed her disappointment that the police have been unable to apprehend Hyles. She said her mother has been visiting the police station regularly, but it appears to them that the police are not doing enough in relation to the case.

Hyles is of African descent and his last known address is Mocha, East Bank Demerara, the police said.

Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Hyles is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 225-2227, 225-8196, 2271149, 226-7065, 911 or the nearest police station. All information will be treated with strict confidence, the police said.
