Wolf’s Warriors Masters stop Floodlight­s

Wolf Warriors Masters secured an upset win over Floodlight­s Softball Cricket team last Sunday when the Wolf’s Warriors Challenge Cup softball tournament continued at various venues.

Batting first Floodlight­s made 93 all out from 17.2 overs with Wayne Jones’s 25, the top score.

Ramesh Narine 2-3, S. Yusuf 2-11 and M. Vieira 2-28 were the principal wicket takers for Wolf Warriors Masters who reached 95-5 from 16.4 overs with R Sankar 26 and R. Narine 23 the top scorers.

Bowling for Floodlight­s, W. Jones picked up 2-16 and Claude Canterbury 2-21.

In another match of the competitio­n, Fisherman Masters defeated Tropical Springs by six wickets. Tropical Springs scored 49-7 off their allotted 20 overs as Anil Rambarran bagged 3-14. Fisherman Masters in reply, reached 51-5 from 10.3 overs. L. Ramdin 3-38 and Azimullah 2-14 were the win wicket takers.

Superior Woods then defeated Parika Defenders by eight wickets.

Batting first, Parika Defenders scored 146 all out from 19.1 overs with P. Balgobin 46 and Beesham 26, the principal scorers.

Mark Fung 3-20, F. Kumar 3-25 and Peter Persaud 220 were the wicket takers for Superior Woods, who in reply, reached 147-3 off 16 overs.

F. Kumar 44, 44 Mohamed Rafeek 40 and John Flintoff 34 were the main contributo­rs as F. Mohamed bagged 2-4.
