Labourer, 17, stabbed to death over $440 loan

A labourer was on Tuesday evening stabbed to death by a cousin over the repayment of $440, tragically ending a two-week feud between two teenagers. Dead is Leon Anthony Ritchie, 17, of Lot 20 Canal Number One, West Bank Demerara. He sustained a single stab wound to his chest and was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect, a 16-year-old was taken into custody and the suspected murder weapon, a knife, was recovered at the scene. Reports revealed that the incident stemmed from a grievance between the two youths.
