GTT retrenching 120

As part of its restructuring, GTT says it will be retrenching approximately 120 persons within the next 12 months, which the Postal and Telecommunications Workers Union (PTWU) says is unlawful since they were not informed of the company’s actions. A press release from the telecommunications company yesterday said the restructuring of the company’s operations is aimed at aligning the company with the new environment in which it provides services. GTT expects that about 120 positions would be made redundant over the next 12 months. This is equivalent to about 17% of its workforce.
