-

Justice Franklin Holder has given a statement pertaining to the conduct of Attorney-General Basil Williams SC in his courtroom last week, according to acting

Chancellor Yonette Cummings-Edwards, who yesterday said that the judiciary would pronounce on the issue soon. “I am in receipt of information in relation to that matter and the matter is currently being addressed,” Justice Cummings-Edwards told reporters shortly after her swearing-in yesterday. “An official report will be given to the press as soon everything is completed… within a matter of days,” she added. The now acting Chancellor explained that she was briefed on the matter in her capacity as acting Chief Justice. Franklin Holder has described as “despicable,” but expressed his willingness to work along with the judge to have the matter sorted out. “…We can’t allow [Anil] Nandlall to create this problem and then we leave it unresolved…The judge and I will resolve the issue,” Williams said. Justice Holder in a letter of complaint which was dispatched to Chancellor (ag) Yonette CummingsEdwards on Monday, called Williams’s behaviour “contemptuous” and made it clear that he will not deal with Williams unless he receives an apology in open court. It was Duncan’s lawyer, Nandlall, a former AG who took to Facebook hours after the court hearing had ended, claiming that Justice Holder had been threatened in open court. North, Black Bush Polder, was last seen during the last week of August, 2016. Since then, her spouse, Sunildat Balack, 45, had been giving conflicting information on her whereabouts, including the claim that she had left the country.

But according to Commander of ‘B’ Division Ian Amsterdam, the man told investigators that on September 6, 2016, he and his wife had an argument, which became physical.

Amsterdam said the man claimed that he choked the woman until she died and, in an effort to cover up his crime, he buried her body in their backyard. According to the Commander, the man told investigators that he and his wife argued over her wanting to leave the country, which he was against. Lilwantie Balack
