GMR&SC Race of Cham­pi­ons meet ends to­day

The cur­tain will come down on the Guyana Mo­tor Rac­ing and Sports Club two-day In­ter­na­tional race of Cham­pi­ons Meet to­day at the South Dakota Cir­cuit.

Com­peti­tors from Canada, the USA, Ja­maica, Bar­ba­dos, Trinidad and Tobago, Bri­tain and hosts Guyana will bat­tle for supremacy in the fourth and fi­nal round of the year­long cham­pi­onships.

Trinidad, win­ners of last year’s cham­pi­onships will be look­ing to de­fend their ti­tle. In ad­di­tion to the Caribbean Mo­tor Rac­ing Cham­pi­onships, two pro­fes­sional drift cars from Trinidad and Tobago as well as four SR-# rad­i­cals from Bar­ba­dos will be in ac­tion.

Mean­while, one of the coun­try’s top Group Four drivers, Rupie Shew­jat­tan said he plans to be in the mid­dle of com­pe­ti­tion for top hon­ours.

Shew­jat­tan, who will be pi­lot­ing a Mit­subishi Evo­lu­tion V, is ea­ger to test his skills against the Caribbean’s best.
