Mercy Aigbe and Toyin Abraham say ‘beef’ was fake
Nollywood actresses Mercy Aigbe and Toyin Abraham, both of Edo blood, are very close friends, or so it seemed, until questions cropped up recently concerning their relationship.
Alakada actress, Toyin, was the first to raise dust when she posted on her Instagram page that Osas star, Mercy, has been a hypocrite of a friend to her and was responsible for her marriage ending. However, she later came out to say she was only playing a prank.
In her words: “The Ghost and the Tout it did not go viral but within few minutes of calling out Mercy Aigbe it went viral and lots of people have been messaging her.”
For their fans, it was a huge disappointment as they were poised for a long fight and a thrilling entertainment. But then, later reports had it that they had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
To set the record straight, Potpourri placed a call to Mercy who responded that nothing is amiss between her and her friend, Toyin.
“Don’t mind the bloggers,” she said. “There’s no problem between me and Toyin. It was a stunt by Toyin as famously explained by her. The bloggers only feasted on it to make business.”
Convincing? Potpourri asked her about ‘unfollowing’ each other on Instagram and her response was: “There is no truth in that either. That is easy to find out, you can check it yourself to confirm.”
However, a Potpourri check has revealed that indeed the duo, both divorced and single have truly ‘unfollowed’ each other as widely reported. (Nigeria Films)
