NK Ballers, Haynes Hitters in lopsided wins

NK Ballers and Haynes Hitters clinched lopsided wins when the group stage in the New Era Entertainm­ent/Mohamed’s Enterprise Futsal Tournament concluded on Friday.

Staged at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground Tarmac, NK Ballers dismantled Capital Strikers 10-1. Donovan Francis bagged a helmet trick while Kenard Simon tallied a hat-trick and Keon Sears bagged a brace.

Adding a goal was Rawle Gittens. For the loser Hakeem Elliot scored. Similarly Haynes Hitters crushed Achievers 4-1.

Tevin Thompson registered a double while Ronnie Velloza and Floyd Headley scored one goal apiece. For the loser, Melvyn John scored.

Meanwhile Royal Warriors and Silver Bullets battled to a 2-2 stalemate. Keith Campbell and Glenton Lyte scored one goal each for Royal Warriors while Damion Williams tallied a brace for Silver Bullets.

Due to the result, Royal Warriors earned their berth in the knockout round owing to their superior goal-differenti­al.

On the other hand, Silver Bullets were dumped out of the event, as they needed a win to progress.

The 18 team competitio­n was being played in an initial round-robin format, with the top two finishers from each section progressin­g to the quarterfin­als stage.

Group-A consisted of Nutt-man AllStars, LA Ballers and Hard-Knocks, while Young Achievers, Capital Strikers, Germans United and West Side Timehri Panthers-A and Samatta Point/Kaneville clinched contrastin­g wins when the East Bank Demerara section of the National Milling Company [NAMILCO] U17 Football League continued yesterday at the National Training Center, Providence.

Timehri Panthers-A mauled Swan 11-0. Tyrone Burnett registered a hat-trick in the 21st, 34th and 44th, with Tyrel Khan bagging a hat-trick in the eighth, 34th and 60th minute and Shannon Samnauth tallying three goals in the 23rd, 58th and 62nd minute.

Ishmael Pulsaram and Kevon Scott added goals in the 24th and 59th minute respective­ly. On the other hand, Samatta Point/Kaneville edged Agricola 4-3.

Jaden Forde recorded a double in the 30th and 60th minute, while Kareem Richmond and Denzil Garraway added goals in the 32nd and 65th minute each.

For the loser, Bryan Lambert, Jamal Fyffe and Demone Cort scored in the 16thm 21st and 56th minute respective­ly. Meanwhile, Timehri Panthers-B and Mocha Champs battled to a 2-2 draw.

Horace Solomon bagged a brace in the 22nd and 33rd minute for Timehri Panthers-B while Warren Williams equalised in the 40th and 62nd minute.
