The MSC management team was represented by Linden Mayor Waneka Arrindell, who is also a representative of the Region’s Mayor and City Council, as well as Councillor Mark Goring, the representative of the Regional Democratic Council.

This is the third visit to the facility. The prior site inspection was conducted by the designing team led by Boyce. The presence of the Chinese team was required as it’s a bilateral arrangement between the Guyana and the People’s Republic of China. The Foreign Affairs Ministry, through the Department of International Cooperation, was also there to assess the nature of the project and determine the respective conditions and protocols inclusive of the technical requirements, stated the release.

The Government of the People’s Republic of China is committed to facilitating three projects, of which the government has identified as multipurpose sporting facilities in Region #2, #6 and #10 respectively.

Presently, the architectural design of the project is underway and will be presented to the facility’s management team upon completion for approval. Although a concept design has been completed, the MSC management team has to agree and approve the final submitted proposal, the release stated.
