Blueberry Hill will tackle Central Mackenzie while Aroaima will oppose Christianburg in the semi-finals of the Region #10 pool in the One Guyana Presidents Cup this evening, following quarterfinal wins on Friday night at the Wisburg ground.

Blueberry Hill earned a date with Central Mackenzie tonight at the same venue from 20:30hrs, after demolishing Ituni/Mines 61. Shane Luckie handed Blueberry Hill the lead in the seventh minute, volleying into the back of the net, after receiving a cross inside the penalty area.

However, Jamal White equalised in the 21st minute for Ituni/Mines. Awarded a free-kick outside the centre of the 18-yard box, White curled his effort into the right hand corner.

The conversion proved to be the only noteworthy moment for Ituni/Mines as Blueberry Hill went on to record five unanswered goals and romp to the easy victory. Ricardo Halley pushed the score to 2-1 in the 25th minute, unleashing a powerful

free-kick 20 yards outside the penalty box, which sailed into the roof of the net.

Janeve Waldron then got into the scoring act as the score-line ballooned to 3-1 in the 36th minute. The conversion started

with midfielder Clive Nobrega following a through pass into the path of Waldron, who slammed his effort past the custodian at the near corner.

Two minutes later Luckie completed his brace with a moment of brilliance to push the score to 4-1. The versatile attacker curled his left-footed effort from the right of the penalty box into the far corner. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval.

A further two goals were added to the score, as Kwesi Tafawa and Kendolph Lewis made their presence felt in the space of three minutes. Tafawa etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 70th minute, slamming home into the back of the

net, after an initial strike from Nobrega following a counterattack was directed into his path.

Lewis then sealed the result in the 73rd minute, volleying with the side of his left leg into the far corner, after receiving a cross inside the penalty box.

On the other hand, Aroaima squeaked past One Mile by a 2-1 score-line. A 90th+1 minute conversion settled the outcome, as a Sherlock Phillips strike was deflected into the back of the net. Before the aforementioned conclusion, Phillips pushed Aroaima into the lead, directing his header into the back of the net following a cross into the 18-yard area.

However, Kevin Layne would level proceedings, thumping his effort into the right side eight

minutes later. Aroaima will now oppose Christianburg at 18:00hrs.

Meanwhile, in the Region #4 section at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue, Plaisance/Liliendaal crushed Timehri/St. Cuthbert’s Mission 4-0. Seon Urgulas bagged a double in the 35th and 57th minute, while Stephon Matthews, and T. Garraway scored in the fourth and 54th minute respectively.

Also, Werk-en-Rust edged South Ruimveldt 2-1. Cecil Jackman and Joshua Brathwaite netted in the 17th, and 68th minute apiece. For the losers, Daniel Ross found the back of the net in the 28th minute.
