THE NOUN
● A noun is a word which names or identifies a person, animal, place, thing,
quality, feeling or idea.
● A noun often follows articles such as: the, a, or an.
● Sometimes a descriptive word may come between an article and the noun. ● A noun can be part of the subject or predicate or both parts of the sentence. ● It usually tells who or what.

Exercise
In about 120-200 words , write a letter to the Head Teacher of Jackson Secondary School , making a request as head of the Student Poetry Committee of your school to have a performance of poems at a special assembly.
(Your letter should include the date and time of the event, venue, copy of the programme and any other information you think is necessary.)
COMPREHENSION ON MY OWN
- Read the recipe carefully then answer the questions which follow.
Method
1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Melt the margarine and blend with the
breadcrumbs.
2. Combine the mixture with sugar and spices.
3. Grease a pie dish and sprinkle a layer of crumbs at the bottom. Cover with a layer of stewed guavas; sprinkle with spice and sugar. Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used up, ending with breadcrumbs.
4. Mix the lemon or lime juice with a tablespoon of water and pour over the
pudding.
5. Bake for 20 minutes.
6. Serve warm with coconut cream.
