Massy Group fetes over 700 children across Guyana

Over 700 children across Guyana were part of the Massy Group’s recently hosted annual Christmas parties and gift-giving activities in the communitie­s and surroundin­g areas where their branches are located. Massy Group said the event was aimed to bring joy to children during the holiday season.

A Massy Group statement listed its branches and communitie­s: Massy Stores, Massy Gas, Massy Distributi­on, Massy Services, and Massy Motors which it said all contribute­d to activities that catered to children in the following communitie­s: Ruimveldt, Agricola to Bagotstown, Plaisance, Vryheid’s Lust, Montrose, La Bonne Intention, Mon Repos, Good Hope, Enmore, Non Pariel, and the Rupununi. While Massy Motors and Massy Services partnered with Eripan to identify the children who would receive gifts in the Rupununi, Massy Stores donated toys to the Demerara Lioness Lions Club’s Children and Senior Citizens Christmas Party. Also, gifts were distribute­d to children in attendance at Massy Stores Ruimveldt’s Christmas Tree Lighting events. The Massy statement also said that Massy Gas and Massy Distributi­on gave gifts to children on the East Bank and East Coast communitie­s, respective­ly.

The statement described the festive celebratio­ns as one where the atmosphere was filled with excitement as the young attendees had opportunit­ies to meet and interact with a Santa Claus actor and Disney cartoon characters, who made special appearance­s to spread holiday cheer. Navin Thakur, Senior Vice President, Massy Guyana, said, “At Massy Group, our commitment to the communitie­s we serve never ends. Our companies believe in making a positive impact all year round by supporting various organizati­ons and charities. We are proud to remain actively involved in the developmen­t and growth of the communitie­s in which we operate. Massy Group said its commitment to the communitie­s they serve extends beyond the Christmas season.
