As the Guyana Harpy Eagles, defending champions of the CWI Regional 4-Day tournament, gear up to defend their title, they have called up a number of young players for practice matches.

Among those players is the prodigious 14-year-old left-handed batsman Adrian Hetmyer, nephew of Guyana and West Indies player Shimron Hetmyer.

The practice matches, the first of which will be played on Tuesday (January 9) at the iconic GCC ground at Bourda, will see Antony Adams and young opening batsman Matthew Nandu leading their respective XIs as part of the Guyana Harpy Eagles preparation for the regional 4-day competition. The second match is slated for January 16–19.

Nandu’s XI will feature a number of rising stars, such as Kemol Savoury, Shamar Yearwood, and Nial Smith, as well as last year’s Harpy Eagles skipper Veerasammy Permaul.
