Sheriff Guyana launches constructi­on company -has procured 50 dump trucks, 50 more expected

Sheriff Guyana yesterday announced the establishm­ent of Sheriff Constructi­on Inc., marking a further expansion of its operations here.

A release from the company said that under the leadership of Ameir Ahmad and father, Shareef Ahmad it is poised to make an impact on Guyana’s constructi­on industry. Sheriff Constructi­on Inc. has already procured 50 dump trucks, with an additional 50 trucks expected to arrive by the end of 2024.

The release said that the company has also purchased four excavators and two cranes to support its operations.

“This substantia­l investment demonstrat­es the company’s commitment to becoming a major player in the constructi­on sector. Civil constructi­on is the primary focus of Sheriff Constructi­on Inc., and the company boasts a team of highly skilled engineers and experts with extensive experience in the field”, the release said.

The company says it is prepared to take on a wide range of constructi­on projects, from commercial buildings to infrastruc­ture developmen­t.

“One of our key objectives is to ensure that this company becomes synonymous with excellence and reliabilit­y in the constructi­on industry,” said Managing Director, Ameir Ahmad.

“We are in the process of securing Local Content Certificat­ion and all other necessary certificat­ions to align with internatio­nal standards.”

Although officially incorporat­ed in April 2023, the release said that the team behind the company has successful­ly completed several projects over the past five years. Some of the notable projects include the constructi­on of the Sheriff General Hospital in Leonora, 25 luxury homes, and its very own three-story office building on Da Silva Street. The team is currently constructi­ng the Sheriff Mall in Palmyra and two condominiu­ms in Richmondvi­lle Housing Scheme.
