Gold is Money, California Square, and Unstoppable recorded contrasting wins when the ‘Georgetown versus the Rest’ street-ball championship resumed on Friday evening at the Back Circle Tarmac in East Ruimveldt.
Gold is Money overcame Lodge All-Stars 3-2. On the other hand, California Square brushed aside Five O by a 2-0 score. Likewise, Unstoppable crushed Back Circle B 3-0.
Meanwhile, Foot-Steppers, thanks to a Simon Bobb conversion, edged Make It Happen 1-0, while Sparta Boss and Broad Street played to a 2-2 draw. In other results, the Stabroek Ballers and Ballers Empire contested a 0-0 stalemate, while the LA Ballers and Sophia battled to a scoreless affair.
The winner of the event, which continues on Tuesday at the same venue, will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will walk away with $200,000, $100,000, and $50,000, respectively. On the individual side, the eventual Most Valuable Player (MVP) will ride away with a motorcycle.
