Canadian High Commission hosts Christmas concert

The High Commission of Canada in cooperatio­n with the Clemsville Music Conservato­ry hosted a Christmas Concert on December 5, 2016, a release from the Canadian High Commission said yesterday. The event was held in the Chapel of the High Commission of Canada, High and Young streets, Georgetown.

Canadian High Commission­er Pierre Giroux in his brief remarks welcomed the tenth year of collaborat­ion with the Clemsville Musical Ensemble. He expressed his pleasure to host the concert in the Chapel and described it as one of the most beautiful features of the 19th century building.

Dr Wendy Rudder, Director of the Clemsville Music Conservato­ry acknowledg­ed the sterling support of the High Commission of Canada over the last ten years and conveyed her appreciati­on on the successful collaborat­ion.

The release said that the audience was treated to classical musical renditions by Canadian and Guyanese composers. The Clemsville Music Ensemble was formed by Dr Rudder and has a total of 18 musicians.
