Cabinet grants no-objection to nearly $100m in contracts

Cabinet on Friday, December 30, 2016 offered its no-objection to almost $100 million in contracts for the supply of equipment to two ministries.

Contracts were awarded to Blacktop Construction Limited and Nev Pro Realization Limited for the procurement of equipment for the special projects unit of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure.

Blacktop Construction Limited has been awarded US$ 98,410 to provide 1 Howo 4x4 all-wheel drive truck with 22 metre mounted boom while Nev Pro Realization Limited has been awarded US$ 345,000 for the provision of 1 mettle Toledo weigh-in motion system.

Under the Ministry of Communities, contracts were awarded for the supply of plastic waste collection bins in four lots. Lot 1 for 1200 - 50 litre bins, a contract worth $3,278,160 was awarded to David Persaud Investments Limited, Lot 2 for the supply of 600 - 120 litre bins was awarded to Meditron Incorporated at a sum of $3,000,000 while Lot 3 a contract for $3,000,000 for the supply of 300 240 litre bins was awarded to the Hardware Depot and Lot 4, $6,300,000 for the supply of 180 660 litre bins was awarded to S. Jagmohan Hardware Supplies. Additionally $1,500,000 was awarded to General Equipment (Guyana) Limited for the procurement of tractors for the Ministry of Communities while the Pan American Health Organisation was granted US$ 102,674 for the procurement of vaccines and syringes for maternal child health.
