STEVE AND MOHAMEDBest Friends

-

MEET two friends. Steve Lawrence and Mohamed Sudrudin. Both attend Richard Ishmael High School and are in the Four Science class.

Steve is thirteen years of age and Mohamed is sixteen.

They both plan to take the same seven subjects: Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and Additional Maths.

Steve’s ambition is to become a doctor, as he puts it, a Brain Surgeon. Thus he hopes to be able to go on to University.

His hobbies are Table Tennis, Cricket, Basket Ball. He belongs to the Mildred Mansfield Table Tennis Club. He also took part in the Guyana Under fifteen and the School’s Under fourteen table tennis tournament. He won the school’s tournament but lost the Guyana Under 15.

In his spare time, he goes to the cinema and also watches TV.

Of life, he said: “Life is what you make it.”

Mohamed hopes to become an Electrical Engineer and is looking forward to furthering his studies in that field.

He likes wrestling, music, swimming and dancing, but this, he confesses, he does at home. He also belongs to the Ruimveldt Football Club.

One of the problems, Mohamed has encountered is that if you know a bit of something, you don’t get any help or co-operation, especially co-operation from friends and classmates, or even older people.

His outlook on life is that you have to try for what you need.

Mohamed and Steve describe themselves as best friends. Quiet and unassuming chaps, they recognise the importance of having goals. M.K.
