ANSA says has mobilised employees for hurricane relief

The ANSA McAL Group says it has mobilised its workforce of over 5500 employees throughout the Caribbean, including Guyana, “to bring some measure of relief to our Caribbean brothers and sisters in need of support in rebuilding their lives and communities after the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma”.

It also cited employees in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Grenada and Jamaica and ANSA McAL (US).

In a statement on Monday, it said that with many of the Caribbean islands, including Cuba, experiencing widespread damage and devastation in the aftermath of the hurricane, the ANSA McAL Group has taken a decision to launch a ‘Family First – Hurricane Relief Initiative’.

The Group says it has committed to donating some of its own products from various sectors and has called on its employees and on the public to drop off essential relief items at all standard distributors across Trinidad and Tobago between 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. as well as Alstons Shipping Ltd, Building #10, ANSA McAl Centre, Uriah Butler Highway & Endeavour Road, Chaguanas between 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. It said that the donation window runs up to Monday 9th October 2017. It added that ANSA McAL’s Manufacturing Sector, through Trinidad Match Ltd and ANSA Chemicals with distributors in Antigua and Dominica, are already coordinating efforts to ship 3 Plume matches and candles as well as Clean & White bleach to affected residents in the islands.

The Group says it is working closely with official Government agencies throughout the Caribbean to ensure that once the items are shipped that they get into the hands of the people who need them most.
