Two held over at­tack on Parika su­per­mar­ket

Ranks of ‘D’ Di­vi­sion have ar­rested two men who al­legedly com­mit­ted a rob­bery at a Su­per­mar­ket at Parika, East Bank Esse­quibo, po­lice in a state­ment said yes­ter­day.

The ar­rest of the sus­pects, a 27 year old res­i­dent from the Esse­quibo Coast and a 17-year-old from East Coast De­mer­ara were made af­ter the rob­bery of Jin Li-Luo, 37, a man­ager o a su­per­mar­ket lo­cated at Parika High­way.

Ini­tial in­ves­ti­ga­tions, po­lice said, re­vealed that the sus­pect en­tered the su­per­mar­ket, made a pur­chase and sub­se­quently one of the sus­pects whipped out a hand­gun. Dur­ing the stick up the ban­dits de­manded cash which was handed over to them and then made good their es­cape on foot.

The state­ment added that one of the sus­pects who was sho in the right foot, was con­fronted by ranks on po­lice pa­trol. The other ar­rest was later made on Wed­nes­day night in Parika af­ter po­lice acted on fur­ther in­for­ma­tion re­ceived.
