GPF crushes Black Pearl to go top of Premier League

Guyana Po­lice Force (GPF) climbed atop the Ge­orge­town Football As­so­ci­a­tion (GFA) Stag Beer Premier League stand­ings af­ter crush­ing Black Pearl 3-0 Sun­day.

De­spite the even­tual mar­gin of vic­tory, the un­de­feated law­men were made to work as the first half ended 1-0 at the Ge­orge­town Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.

Rawle Haynes bagged a dou­ble in the 24th and 48th minute re­spec­tively while util­ity man Kester Dun­das found the back of the net in the 79th minute.

Mean­while, Rid­dim Squad clinched their sec­ond win of the tour­na­ment, rel­e­gat­ing Pele to their third con­sec­u­tive de­feat via a 1-0 score.

Wen­dell Joseph con­fined Pele to the cel­lar po­si­tion in the stand­ings com­pli­ments of a 65th minute strike. Also, Bea­cons and Black Pearl bat­tled to a 1-1 re­sult.

Keon Dou­glas handed Bea­cons the lead in the 17th minute only for Nigel Denny to equalise in the 70th minute. The event re­sumes on Fri­day at the same venue with a dou­ble-header.

At 17:30hrs, Rid­dim Squad will op­pose Black Pearl while Bea­cons will tackle GPF from 19:30hrs. On Novem­ber 5th, three more matches will be staged at the same venue.

In the open­ing clash, Camp­town will op­pose San­tos at 15:00hrs while North­ern Rangers will bat­tle Flamingo from 17:00hrs. In the fi­nal show­down, GFC will match skills with Pele at 19:00hrs
