Sparta Boss, Leopold Street clash today at Cultural Centre Tarmac

Following the abandonmen­t of their semi-final matchup, defending champion Sparta Boss and 2012 winner Leopold Street, will lock horns today from 17:00hrs, at the National Cultural Center Tarmac in the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown Zone.

The victor of the matchup, will book a date with Gold is Money in the grand finale slated for Saturday at the Demerara Park Tarmac, Thirst Park.

The two-time defending champion will need inspired performanc­es from the likes of Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson, Eusi Phillips, Sheldon Shepherd, Cleon Forrester and Denis Edwards if they are to secure their third consecutiv­e final’s appearance.

However, Leopold Street will be undaunted by the task ahead and will look to their dangerous trident of Omallo Williams, Okanie Fraser and Orandel Williams, to lead their charge come kickoff time.

Winner of the overall event will walk-away with $500,000 and the championsh­ip trophy along with automatic qualificat­ion for the National Playoffs.

The runner-up, third and fourth placed finishers will receive $250,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respective­ly.

The winner of the Guinness Plate Championsh­ip will pocket $60,000. The event is also sponsored by Colours Boutique.

According to a release from the organizers Three Peat Promotions, “the Guyana Police Force must be commended for their invaluable support and efforts throughout the tournament.”

The correspond­ence added, “All patrons are being urged not to attend any of the matches with firearms or any form of weapons. We are seeking the cooperatio­n of the fans in ending what has been a tremendous tournament, on a high note.”
