Contrasting wins for Fernandes and Islam

Taylor Fernandes and Daniel Islam secured contrasting wins in the CategoryA section, when the Farfan and Mendes Junior Skill Level Squash Championship, continued on Wednesday.

Staged at the Georgetown Club Facility, Camp Street, Fernandes overcame Anthony Islam 11-7, 11-8. 11-9.

The latter’s twin Daniel Islam downed rising star Samuel Ince-Carvalhal 11-1, 11-7, 11-5.

Meanwhile, Michael Alphonso dismissed Kirsten Gomes 11-8, 11-1, 11-2 in their Category-B showdown.

In Category-D, Jahcinta Adams downed Isabella Ramjohn 11-4, 11-4, 11-4, while Dhiren Persaud squeaked past Beau Fernandes 6-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-9, 11-4.

Also, Chad DeAbreu beat Aishani Persuad 11-1, 11-9, 11-7 in the final matchup of the section.
