Trisco powers way to quarterfin­als

Trisco, Water Plant, and Central Service were among the teams to seal their berth to the quarterfin­al round when the Banks DIH Limited ‘President’s Cup’ InterDepar­tment Domino Championsh­ip, continued on Friday.

Staged at the Thirst Park Sports Club, Trisco continued their superb campaign, crushing Wholesale Liquor and Sales Department. Trisco ended on 92 games, while Wholesale Liquor finished on 73.

Sales was eliminated after tallying 64 games. Meanwhile, the always formidable Water Plant brushed aside Power Generation and Banks-F. Water Plant secured 86 points, with Power Generation finishing a distant second on 71 games.

Banks-F was brought up the rear on 68 games and was eliminated. On the other hand, Central Service edged Pre-Sellers 74-73 to emerge victorious in their clash that also featured an outclassed Soft Drink Plant who ended on 55.

The competitio­n continued last night at the same venue from 18:00hrs with Trisco opposing Water Plant and Power Generation, while Wholesale Liquor battled the duo of Central Service and PreSellers.

The top two teams from each contest will advance. Winner of the tournament will commence five cases of Guinness and a championsh­ip trophy.

On the other hand, the runnerup will pocket five cases of Banks Beer and the respective accolade. The third place finisher will pocket five cases of Malta and the correspond­ing trophy.
